What does «doxología» mean in Spanish?
- A formula, generally brief, of praise to God. The term is formally applied to the ejaculations of praise inserted at the end of some New Testament epistles (Rom., II Peter, Jude) or in the body of the same (Rom. 11:36; Eph. 3:21; I Tim. 1:17). The so-called Major Doxology, Gloria in Excelsis, is nothing other than the angelic hymn of St. Luke (2:14) with non-biblical additions; it is used at Mass except during Advent and Lent.
