What does «crimen (derecho)» mean in Spanish?
- Infringement of the law, i.e., commission of an act prohibited by law or omission of an act prescribed by law, punishable by the State in a proceeding brought by it in its own name. Such commission or omission will not constitute a crime if the law does not define it as such, however monstrous the act may appear in the eyes of the individual; hence the principle nullum crimen, nulla poena sine praevia lege.
