What does «conducto cístico» mean in Spanish?
- Short duct, of variable length between 2 and 3 centimeters and about 3 mm in diameter, which joins the gallbladder to the common bile duct. It is usually located next to the cystic artery; it can also present different anatomical variations, including its duplicity and even its absence. It has a spiral valve that does not provide much resistance to bile flow. Therefore, the cystic duct can be considered the excretory duct of the gallbladder through which the gallbladder eliminates the bile it stores.
