- One of the aromatic benzene hydrocarbons found in the essential oil of eucalyptus, thyme, cumin and other plants. It is also known as cymol. The best known isomer is p-cymene, occurs in nature and is one of the terpenes. Cymene is a colorless liquid with a pleasant odor reminiscent of lemon and boils at 175°.
