What does «belinógrafo» mean in Spanish?
- Invention of the Frenchman Edouard Belin (1876 - 1963) to transmit images at a distance (belinography). It is a type of photo telegraph created in 1907, it allowed to transmit images by telephone and radio connection. Belin was inspired by the principle of Edison's phonograph. The belinograph is heir to the telegraph of 1895 (by Ernest A. Hummel), which had succeeded in transmitting scanned images by electrical methods. In turn, it can be said to be the father of the fax. The belinograph scanned the image by means of a photocell and then transmitted it by telephone line (and later by radio).
