What does «bagá» mean in Spanish?
- Tropical tree of the anonaceae family, 3 to 8 m high, common in Cuba, also present in southern Florida in the USA, Mexico, Central and South America and even the extreme west of Africa. It is mostly used as cattle feed. Very common to find in very humid soils and even flooded, with high salinity. Its fruit is oblong and spherical, similar to an apple. Green when unripe, yellow when ripe. It is not consumed as much as other related fruits such as soursop (Annona muricata) and cherimoya (Annona cherimola).
