Since 1986, the year in which the World Health Organisation (WHO) recognised hydrothermal treatment as an adjuvant method in the cure of certain conditions (for example, rheumatic processes, respiratory and biliary tract disorders, chronic problems of the digestive system), the use of hot waters rich in minerals has grown all over the world, especially in countries such as Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and in general in all Eastern European countries.
