What does «zipa» mean in Spanish?
- Before the arrival of the Spaniards, the name given to the owner of two-fifths of the territory of present-day Colombia. He resided in Bacatá (Bogotá) or Funzha (Muequeta). Zipa was the title of nobility given by the Muisca to the supreme ruler of the Zipazgo, one of the most important administrative divisions of the Muisca Confederation.
