Like all participles, it always denotes past tense and perfective aspect; "prendado" forms the compound or perfective tenses of the regular conjugation in Spanish: he prendado, había prendado, habré prendado, habrán prendado..., it is also used to conjugate the passive voice and to form subordinate clauses.
