What does «adhesión física» mean in Spanish?
- Adhesion or physical adherence is the property of matter by which two surfaces of the same or different substances come together when they come into contact, being held together by intermolecular forces. It is not the same as cohesion, since cohesion is the force of attraction between adjacent particles within the same body or between similar molecules. Adhesion, on the other hand, is the interaction between the surfaces of different bodies. For example, cohesion causes water to form droplets, surface tension keeps them spherical, and adhesion keeps them in place (on a plant leaf, for example).
